News 2015
January We would like to wish all our members A Happy New Year and tight lines for the 2015 season.
Our first event this year is our AGM which this year takes place at Cross Hands Working Mens club on Thursday 29th January.
Following requests from members on how they go about fishing the Groe Park and Irfon Angling Club waters, we have added details of this on to the website. This can be accessed by clicking on the Waters button and then clicking on the Wye button. Finally we would like to ask all our members who are on Facebook to like our Cross Hands and District Angling page so that they can get instant notifications to their phones and Internet devices. With the new season close to starting we have got some more interesting news for our members, in that we are leasing another stretch of water in Carmarthen, which again is tidal and is directly above our existing tidal beat.
We have some good news for our Junior Members in that we have raised the qualifying age from 16 to 18 years of age. September
With the season almost coming to a end, there are reports of many fish being caught on our waters. For those of you who are not on Facebook, here are photos of some of the fish that have been caught.
The top 2 fish were caught by Mike Morgan and the bottom fish weighing 17lb was caught by Kevin Bolton on fly
We would like to thank all members who have reported fish that were caught on our Typicca beat, which is compulsory for our agreement with the fishery owner.
We would like to remind members that once the season has finished, that they get their completed catch return forms off to Gavin Davies as soon as possible in order that we have the full figures for our AGM. The deadline for this is 1st December.
Finally we would like to report that a walking stick was found on our Glantowy beat on July 28th. This information was posted on our Facebook page but no-one has come forward and claimed it so far. The member who found it thought it was left behind by a member who came from the Llandysul area, who originated from Yorkshire.
Would the owner please contact Pat Kiernan (Secretary) for its return. |
